Music: tUnE-yArDs' "Real Live Flesh" on W H O K I L L

I've really been enjoying listening to the new album W H O K I L L by tUnE-yArDs (Merrill Garbus and Nate Brenner), and lo and behold I discovered yesterday via a Yours Truly video that a talented friend and artist, Alex Chitty, did the artwork for the album. A little detective work unearthed Alex in this awesome lo-fi music video.

Prepare for weird.

I'm really digging what she's playing around with, down in Miami. Check out more of her projects on her website and blog.

Music: Ketty Lester's Love Letters (1964)

Could she get any dreamier? This has been stuck in my head after a recent Blue Velvet viewing.

Alex Valentine, Hallucination Glitter Schème (2011), detail, offset prints at SAIC.

I've been neglecting The Enthusiast of late because all of the sudden I'm also writing for a number of other awesome online publications. If you're interested in some of my other, subject-specific endeavors, keep an eye on the following feeds:

Video: David Wain tours Shaker Heights

Apropos of nothing, here's a delightful clip of comedian David Wain (of Stella fame) in 1978 giving a tour of Shaker Heights, Ohio (including a look at the "exotic bonzanza of high schools"). Most adorable are the tiny little bursts of teenage boy laughter before it cuts.
